Presenting at the Service Learning Through Mentorship breakout session (Northern Lights School Division) are 3 students, various staff, and a trustee. It is an example of the power of inspiration, student voice, purposeful action, and authentic collaboration.
As a long-time student leadership advocate, I applaud their focus on community at multiple levels. All of society benefits when students ask, and act on, this question:
How can we make a difference for people in our school community, our local community, and our global community?
The students are developing the competencies, awareness and habits they need to, quite literally, change the world. What a legacy.
